If you’re searching for an indoor play centre in Melbourne that feels like a fairy tale brought to life, Pixieland is your next must-visit. Tucked away inside the M-City Shopping Centre in Clayton, this dreamy new spot is designed especially for children aged 1 to 6 (but older or younger kids can join the fun too) – with gentle play areas, whimsical rides, and relaxing parent spaces. It’s the perfect combo of fun and peace of mind, especially for parents juggling babies, toddlers, or multiple kids.

A fairy tale wonderland for little ones
From the moment you walk in, Pixieland feels like something special. There’s a mini ferris wheel (yes, really!), unicorn carousel, a glowing sensory room with sea animals swimming on the walls, and soft play galore. Toddlers will love the dedicated mini zone, while slightly older kids go wild for the galaxy tube slide, pink train, water gun game, Mario Kart, and sparkly ball pits. Note that the water gun game costs $1 per play. Train and ferris wheel tickets are included and Mario Kart can be played for free as well.
The pretend supermarket and princess dress-up area were clear favourites too, and I loved seeing how inclusive and varied each zone felt – whether your little one loves to climb, create, chill or spin.

Unlike some noisy, overstimulating playcentres, Pixieland feels calm and considered. Music isn’t blasting, the café is surprisingly good (hello prawn tacos and smashed avo), and the seating is genuinely comfy. The best bit? There are camera screens showing each play zone, so you can sip your hot drink knowing exactly where your child is – total peace of mind. The staff also deserve a shoutout for how clean the place was – I noticed them sweeping and vacuuming constantly.
If you’ve got little ones and want somewhere that’s not overwhelming, but still packed with fun, this place is absolutely worth the slightly higher ticket price.

Tip: I found it quieter around midday and late afternoons – a good window if your little one doesn’t nap or if you’ve got flexibility.
